[NEWS] ITWH- Federal Republic of Germany transferred 2 software to calculate, design and manage the drainage network for Vietnamese partners.

HYSTEM-EXTRAN: is a hydraulic calculation software and drainage network design, describing the process of flow formation, surface flow transmission and hydraulic flow in drainage systems; allows calculation of flow, water level and a load of contaminants on surfaces as well as in drains. Problems or weaknesses of the drainage network through software will be identified so that corrective measures can be proposed as well as remedied. HYSTEM-EXTRAN allows running simulations of special constructions such as pumping stations, sluices, culverts, etc. in the drainage system.

GIPS: is an Auto CAD-based drainage network design software that helps to design drainage networks quickly and conveniently. Buildings in the drainage system will be created with just one click. GIPS helps to show the most beautiful and informative design in the fastest way, the vertical profile will be automatically created with all specifications, allowing to show the water level in the sewers on the survey along the time.

The course attracted the participation of more than 50 students from Universities, Colleges specializing in water supply and drainage, research institutes, consulting and drainage companies which are members of VWSA.

At the training course, trainees were given detailed instructions on how to use the software to calculate hydraulics and design the drainage network, to do pilot exercises and run software to simulate special constructions. Some examples are pumping stations, sluices, and drains in a drainage system. In addition to guiding students to practice, the instructor also showed some live videos of simulation exercises for students to study after finishing the class.
